FACILITIES
THE CAMPUS:
Looking back, your favourite memories would be the ones you made in college. There is no dearth of activities to choose from on our campus. You can quench your thirst for knowledge in our classrooms. If you feel like hitting the stacks for a bit of light reading to sharpen your mind, then our library is just the place for you. Step into our cafeteria for some delicious snacks and delightful conversations. The campus is abuzz with cultural activities, and students are encouraged to explore their artistic talents.
INFRASTRUCTURE:
The students at ICAHS will be facilitated alongside like-minded intellectuals in the vibrant Indira Group of Educational Institutions, Pandur campus. They will receive training in an esteemed 900-bedded hospital equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment and instruments, assisting in the quick diagnosis and evaluation of patients’ health. The campus also features advanced medical laboratories, fully equipped classrooms, a library, an auditorium, hostel facilities, and a canteen.
CLASS ROOM:
At ICAHS, the lecture halls are well-ventilated and spacious, designed to accommodate students comfortably. They are equipped with whiteboards, projectors, audio-visual systems, microphones, and speakers to ensure clear and effective learning. Demonstration rooms and laboratories are furnished with models and specimens for basic medical science subjects. In addition, simulation and skill laboratories with mannequins provide students with hands-on training to develop essential clinical skills.
LIBRARY:
Our library is the one-stop place where our students can widen their mindscape with the latest textbooks, works of fiction, and non-fiction. With more than 25,000 periodicals, technical books, and journals (Indian and foreign), students can stay updated with the latest advancements in the medical field.
- Students can access audio-video information in the library.
- An integrated library system (LIBSYS) software is used in almost all areas, including acquisition, cataloguing, circulation, serials control, article indexing & abstracting, OPAC, and union catalogue.
- All library activities are computerized using the latest technology.
- Students and staff are provided with bar-coded identity cards to avail the facilities of the computerized library.
CLINICAL POSTING FOR ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCE STUDENTS:
At ICAHS, the clinical postings for undergraduate students offer a wide range of benefits, including hands-on training and learning of practical techniques and procedures in clinical settings, handling medical equipment, diagnostic tools, laboratory processes, patient interaction, and interpersonal skills. These experiences are essential for bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world healthcare practice. ICAHS students also learn to work effectively with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals.
INTERSHIP FOR ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCE STUDENTS:
The ICAHS students are eligible to start their internship immediately after they have successfully cleared all the academic year theory papers of The TN Dr. M.G.R. Medical University. The duration of the internship is one (1) year for all degree courses under Allied Health Sciences.
CAFETERIA:
Nobody is at the top of their game on an empty stomach. When the mood strikes for a quick meal, students can visit our multi-cuisine cafeteria. Following all safety protocols, which are regularly monitored by the management, the cafeteria serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Our water treatment plant supplies purified water to the cafeteria. A Canteen Supervisory Committee has been established to oversee all cafeteria operations.
HOSTEL FACILITY:
Hostel facilities are available separately for boys and girls in vibrant eco-friendly college campus with fully functional
mess. The out station students will be accommodated in the hostel with request and applicable hostel fees.
TRANSPORTATION:
Our college offers a fleet of omni-buses that shuttle between many strategic points across the city. By paying a nominal transport fee, both students and faculty members can make use of the bus service. Those commuting from Thiruvallur Railway Station can avail of these buses free of cost. To ensure the safety of all passengers, the buses are regularly serviced and maintained by trained mechanics. Senior faculty members are also welcome to use the air-conditioned coaches.
PREVENTION OF RAGGING:
Ragging is punishable as per the proceedings of the Supreme Court of India in SLP(C) No. 24295/2004, conveyed by the University Grants Commission (UGC) vide Letter No. F.1-8/2006 (Cpp-II) dated 04/03/2008.
If any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the authorities of IECT / ICAHS, the concerned student will be asked to provide an explanation. If the explanation is found to be unsatisfactory, the management will expel the student from the institution in accordance with the applicable rules.
